CARMEL, Ind. (Feb. 8, 2024) – Merchants Bank (NASDAQ:MBIN), today announces the hiring of Benjamin Parker and Matthew Holmes as the bank’s newest Mortgage Loan Originators. Parker and Holmes have joined the Merchants Mortgage division at the company’s headquarters based out of Carmel.
In their new capacities, Parker and Holmes will consult with clients and prospects regarding their home borrowing needs, offering various mortgage loan products. Their strong backgrounds within the residential mortgage industry will be critical assets to customers as Americans are navigating an ever-changing home-buying market.
Parker brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at Merchants Bank with nearly two decades of mortgage lending experience. He most recently served as a residential mortgage banker at Star Financial Bank in Indianapolis where he originated conventional, Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and Veterans Affairs (VA) mortgages while efficiently developing and maintaining external relationships with clients. Parker also served as a residential mortgage loan processor at Spire Financial LLC, a division of V.I.P. Mortgage, Inc., where he managed all aspects of the loan process.
Holmes joins the Merchants Bank team with 20 years of experience in all facets of the mortgage industry, holding various loan officer and management positions within central Indiana at Carrington Mortgage Holdings, Peoples Bank and First Internet Bank. Prior to joining Merchants, Holmes was most recently an outside loan officer for Movement Mortgage serving the Indianapolis area.

Parker earned his master’s degree in business administration at Texas State University after receiving his bachelor’s degree in restaurant resort management at Colorado State University. Holmes attended Ball State University and earned his bachelor’s degrees in both marketing and management.
