Phil Daubenmire

With two decades of service in the banking industry, Phil Daubenmire serves as Executive Vice President of Investment Real Estate at Merchants Bank, a position he assumed in January 2024. In this role, Phil brings a wealth of expertise to oversee all Investment Real Estate credit functions, specifically focusing on balance sheet multifamily and healthcare transactions originated in coordination with Merchants Capital.

Phil’s journey with Merchants Bank is marked by progressive roles and significant contributions. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriter for the Investment Real Estate Division.

Phil’s career began in 2005 when he joined the company as a Personal Banker. Over the years, he has advanced through various roles, showcasing his ability to excel in diverse areas of banking operations. Notably, he has held other positions that include Loan Operations Manager, Loan Portfolio Manager, Commercial Underwriter.  Phil also served as the Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer for two years and led the first initiative into Small Business Lending leading to Delegated Underwriting Authority (PLP) with the Small Business Administration.

Phil Daubenmire holds an MBA with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. He earned his BA in International Business with a minor in Spanish from Taylor University in 2005, where he actively participated in extracurricular activities such as Taylor University Lacrosse and served as the President of the Lacrosse Club.
