CARMEL, Ind. (Aug. 1, 2023) – Merchants Bank of Indiana (NASDAQ:MBIN) (“Merchants Bank”), today announces it has signed Indiana University (IU) basketball players Trey Galloway and Malik Reneau as its newest brand ambassadors.
As brand ambassadors for Merchants Bank, Galloway and Reneau will make personal appearances and participate in other advertising opportunities to promote Merchants Bank’s various lines of business. These include residential mortgage banking, business banking (including small business lending), multifamily housing finance, healthcare facility financing and servicing, agricultural lending, mortgage warehouse financing, and traditional community banking.
Galloway previously played for Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana, where he set a school scoring record with 1,537 career points while also being named All-State and an Indiana All-Star in 2020. Galloway is now a backcourt veteran for IU and is primed to be an offensive catalyst and defensive stopper aspiring to lead the Hoosiers to an improved record for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
“Trey’s proven leadership, determination and passion on the court is also evident in who he is off the court, which made it easy for us to choose him as our brand ambassador,” said Merchants Bank Chairman Michael F. Reneau was one of three players who started all 35 games during the 2022-2023 season. As a freshman, he was a pivotal part of the Hoosier’s impressive season and tournament run as he averaged 6.1 points and 3.7 rebounds and shot 55.3% (89-of-161) from the floor. Reneau graduated from Monte Verde High School in Florida where he led his team to back-to-back championships.
